Website SEO
Once completed, your website keywords must be optimized for search engine ranking. This practice is called website SEO which is short for Search Engine Optimization. This practice consists of doing all things necessary on your website and across the internet to get your site ranked well with the search engines. This will result in getting found much quicker than otherwise when someone is searching for your products or services.
There are two types of SEO – website and internet presence SEO.
Website SEO is everything that must be done to the website only. It does not include building an online presence. It includes assurance that focus keywords are correct, page titles are accurate, permalinks and URLs are correct, page content is referencing your focus keywords correctly, meta descriptions are entered correctly; SEO titles are present, content is not too short and not too long, outbound and inbound links are used appropriately, images are optimized and tagged correctly, and much more.
Your site, once finished, will normally be indexed within a few weeks. When done correctly, the results are very pleasing. Traffic increases to your site. Sales go up.
However, no one can guarantee how long it will take to get on the first page of google – if ever. This is because of many factors come into play. The search engines consider things such as how long you’ve been in business, how long you’ve been online with the exact same listing information, how many companies you are competing with for key words, how many links your site has, how many directories you are listed on, how many social networks you are on, etc.
Get the website SEO done first and done right. Then worry about building your internet online presence.
